What colors would it take to paint the iris? :)
I would use a combination of BeBoppin' Blue (it's a very bold blue), Wineona (it's a very purple-y purple), and Smiley Face (it is, of course, the color of the famous yellow smiley face). This would be so pretty painted onto a tea mug!
